What is the cause of thread damage of vertical CNC lathe? The following is answered by Weihao machine tool manufacturer.
The spindle of CNC lathe is perpendicular to the horizontal plane and a circular worktable with large diameter is used to clamp workpieces. This kind of machine tool is mainly used to process large and complex parts with large radial size and relatively small axial size. When turning threads, damage is often encountered:
1. The thread cutter is damaged during thread turning;
2. After the thread is turned, remove it and measure it. It is found that the depth is not enough.
If you want to solve these problems, first of all, you should understand the principle of NC lathe turning thread, complete thread cutting, and accurately make the workpiece rotate and the tool feed a lead. A spindle encoder is set on the lathe, and its synchronous pulse is used as the cutting control signal of tool feed point and tool return point, so that the pulse number of feed servo motor has a corresponding relationship with the rotation number of spindle. There is no direct mechanical connection between the number of revolutions of the spindle of the NC lathe and the feed motion. Therefore, when the tool is re installed or the workpiece is re clamped, it is not easy to cut the tool tip along the original spiral groove.
If the tool is damaged during thread turning or you want to change a fine turning tool to finish thread turning, you can set the tool again after the new tool is installed. It is easy to set the tool in X direction, and the key is to set the tool in Z direction. Many people move the tool tip to the end face of the workpiece by feeling. In this way, the tool setting error is relatively large. Rough turning is OK, but fine turning is not.
